The Government Affairs Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reporting on federal, state and local legislative and regulatory activities related to housing, land use, and real estate in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.


  • Conduct market analysis and policy research and prepare strategic communications.
  • Perform financial analysis of policy impacts on projects and Holland businesses and present findings.
  • Review City Council agendas and perform research to identify and report on legislative activity and regulatory rulemaking impacting Holland Partner Group’s businesses and projects.
  • Monitor key regulatory issues that apply to company investment strategies and operations and maintain communication as necessary.
  • Prepare presentations on market analysis and urban development policy analysis for a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Review, summarize and catalogue academic, economic, and social sciences (specifically urban studies) research.
  • Perform background research on the regulatory environment and communicate conclusions in written memos, letters, and reports.
  • Assist with market evaluation and analysis of demographics, market demand, and competition. 
  • Conduct ad-hoc market, policy and financial analysis.
  • Assist the Government Affairs Manager with the execution of research projects and strategic communications.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
  • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
  • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in real estate, development, urban studies, economics, political science, or related field required.

Experience: Two to three years’ experience working in government relations, analyst, real estate, or related field required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks in a complex and fast-paced operating environment.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and clearly explain legal documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
  • Thorough understanding of government and regulatory structure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues as they relate to Holland Partner Group operations.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with all levels of individuals while inspiring respect and credibility.
  • Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proactive, flexible, responsible, and resourceful.Attendance: This full-time position is exempt and requires the ability to be present and available during business hours to meet company and department needs. Additional hours or flexible schedule may be required.

This position also requires:

  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
