Overview

The Director of Residential Technology is responsible for developing, managing, and communicating a residential business unit and property management technology strategy, specific goals, and an evolving roadmap including all impacted business units in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

 We are seeking a team player with a strong work ethic that offers exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent follow through. The Holland Team consists of Associates that demonstrate strong leadership, communication, team-building, and decision-making skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support Holland’s desire to incorporate new technology into current and oncoming developments by evaluating technologies and methodologies (i.e. smart home/smart building platforms, access and security control, voice/video/data, property management systems, CRM, call centers, reputation management, etc.) and developing a roadmap to test and potentially implement..
  • Serve as an internal champion for new game-changing product ideas and facilitate the ideas/concepts/projects through the development phases.
  • Stay informed on the latest consumer-facing technology trends, bringing choice, relevancy, transparency, and simplicity to conversations with all stakeholders.
  • Develop best practices surrounding the technology of back-office, marketing, unit, and property-level execution, and ensure expectations are clearly communicated to project and property teams.
  • Serve as an in-house expert on multifamily technology, infrastructure, and software for all Holland communities, introducing emerging technologies into the design and development teams.
  • Lead technology experimentation and proof-of-concept efforts to identify and recommend new platforms or services that have potential scalable impact for Hollands’s communities.
  • Launch and actively manage residential technology pilots across the organization.
  • In coordination with the Training Team, evaluate and ensure proper training and adoption are in place for all software and systems used by the Residential Business Unit. 
  • Develop and strengthen innovation team relationships with all other business units.
  • Engage full teams with Holland Partner Group culture and drive open communication throughout the organization.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
  • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
  • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.

Experience: At least 8 years of relevant multifamily experience, and 5 years in technology required. Experience consulting with large cross-functional teams across a variety of business units required, with direct and indirect management of cross-functional teams with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience with real estate development and/or property management a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple strategic initiatives across a large group of cross-functional teams and internal/external partners.
  • Proven track record aligning and influencing key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Strong problem solver with ability to leverage analytics and consumer knowledge to identify opportunities.
  • Possess a high level of curiosity about upcoming technology with a focus on how technologies can benefit Holland.
  • Knowledge of smart units/homes/buildings/cities technology a plus.
  • Must understand Holland company structure and lead with a passion for making all business units successful through innovation.
  • Ability to maneuver between high-level strategic thinking and detailed project work.
  • Ability to approach existing and newly implemented technology with a continual improvement approach.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to support and perpetuate company culture.
  • Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proactive, flexible, responsible and resourceful.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Attendance: This full-time position is exempt and requires the ability to be present and available during business hours to meet company and department needs. Additional hours or flexible schedule may be required. 

 

This position also requires:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel and overnight stays.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
