Holland Partner Group is seeking an experienced Controller to join our Construction Accounting Team!

The Construction Controller is responsible for leading the Construction Accounting Team and actively partnering with the divisional leaders across all regions to ensure timely communication on all financial matters, rigorous support of critical decision-making, and the execution of Holland Construction’s operational strategies in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

• Ensure the creation and accuracy of the Holland Construction financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including revenue recognition for construction projects and related month-end close process.
• Review and oversee the Accountants’ general accounting work, including draws, recording and processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll allocations, job costing and general ledger postings for construction projects.
• Continually review Holland Construction financial performance and identify risk and opportunities, then develop associated action plans with the President of Holland Construction.
• Oversee the management of Holland Construction overhead in partnership with the leadership team and the development of annual labor rates in each region.
• Partner with construction team members and partners to drive forecast accuracy and informed business decisions, while enabling the execution of strategic and financial initiatives.
• Design, implement and support appropriate policies and procedures that are consistent with industry best practice to support the financial health and continued growth of the organization.
• Communicate with project personnel, external vendors, and other stakeholders for all construction-related finance and accounting questions and requests.
• Monitor cash management for Holland Construction, including individual projects, as applicable, and supervise and monitor all project funding.
• Ensure compliance with Holland Partner Group’s policies and procedures.
• Represent Holland Partner Group in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.

Experience: Minimum of eight to ten years of experience in accounting, finance or related function, including previous supervisory experience. Experience working in the construction, real estate, or development industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Independent self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve accounting issues timely and accurately.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
• Solid knowledge of internal control functions and documentation.
• Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Yardi experience beneficial, but not required.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.

Attendance: This is a full time exempt position which requires you to be present and available during business hours to meet the needs of your team and the Company. This exempt position is not eligible for overtime, however on occasion, a flexible schedule may be required.

This position also requires:

• Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20lbs.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
• Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
