Overview

The Marketing Data Scientist is responsible for capitalizing on our marking data and working with our internal teams to build and maintain full cross channel marking automation to support the marketing and sales process for each of our properties in accordance with Holland Partner Group Values.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced data mining and machine learning to solve for various algorithmic problems, increase spend efficiency and improve core marketing business metrics.
  • Perform large-scale data analysis to identify relationships, patterns, or trends and develop effective statistical models for segmentation, classification, optimization, time series, etc.
  • Build automated machine learning tools to optimize all aspects of Holland Partner Group’s marketing efforts, providing actionable insights in real time.
  • Design experiments to test the validity of hypotheses around prospect acquisition strategy and user behavior within Holland Partner Group’s portfolio.
  • Partner closely with internal teams across the organization to identify impactful business problems and translate them into automated marketing processes.
  • Identify and implement new capabilities and best practices to develop and improve automated data analysis processes.
  • Partner with the marketing team to optimize performance in customer acquisition and retention, analyzing campaign performance (including A/B testing), and delivering actionable insights to the internal team and senior leadership.
  • Create analytical attribution models to quantify the return on investment of marketing spend across all the teams marketing strategies and determine the true value of each marketing channel.
  • Track and analyze attribution research to determine the accuracy and success of attribution strategies.
  • Identify gaps or opportunities in data and metrics and create solutions to mitigate data availability or business process challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing statistical and modeling guidance on their analyses and projects.
  • Educate internal teams on how to apply statistical rigor to their analyses and business recommendations.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop best in class processes and techniques to leverage data science.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s or PHD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Financial Engineering or another related field required.   Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree.

 

Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience using applied statistics, machine learning and/or data mining to solve real-world marketing challenges utilizing a variety of digital marketing data such as Google analytics and email campaign data.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

 

  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques and their real-world advantages and drawbacks
  • Proficient with Azure ML Studio and/or other Machine Learning tools and R, Python or equivalent for data modeling and other big data tools and frameworks
  • Skilled in identifying key insights from large scale data analysis
  • Ability to implement statistical solutions on high profile systems and integrate solutions into complex systems
  • Knowledge of the full model lifecycle from concept, variable selection, model selection, deployment, scoring, through production updates and iteration
  • Skilled in designing A/B testing and other experiments with techniques such as sample selection, power analysis, and results analysis
  • Knowledge of digital marketing processes and data sources, including social media conversation, website analytics, and online advertising data
  • Ability to proficiently utilize Google Analytics 360 Suite on analytics, tagging, site optimization, attribution, market research, data visualization, and audience management
  • Skilled in statistical inference with techniques to specify and explain multiple type of generalized linear models especially models considering a hierarchy of variables
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility

 

Attendance: This full-time position is exempt and requires the ability to be present and available during business hours to meet company and department needs. Additional hours or flexible schedule may be required.

 

Physical requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel and overnight stays
  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
