    Holland Partner Group is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to join our Construction Team.

    Responsibilities

     

    Job Summary:

     

    This position is responsible for performing administrative duties to ensure the safe practice, successful planning, and completion of various construction projects.

     

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Reviews preliminary drawings for cost control, assists Project Manager in budget preparation and in the analysis of potential construction techniques.
    • Reviews preliminary schedule and reviews delivery of critical items.
    • Reviews manpower requirements to meet completion date.
    • Reviews and coordinates schedule revision throughout project.
    • Provides advice to Project Managers regarding constructability, cost of construction, and material selections on construction projects.
    • Assures that field records are being properly maintained:
    • daily reports, weekly job visit reports, safety reports, test results (verified with Project Manager), equipment and small tool records and policy, maintenance records, job schedules, labor reports, vendor reports, and productivity records.
    • Coordinate and monitor construction productivity and scheduling, as directed by General Superintendent.
    • Promote project time planning, and progress scheduling.
    • Monitor progress on assigned projects, to assure agreed upon milestone dates and client expectations are met.
    • Meet with Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents to review schedules, and confirm key project delivery dates.
    • Review construction techniques to improve existing methods.
    • Supervise and assist Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents in the successful completion of their assigned duties.
    • Assist General Superintendent in the individual growth and development of field personnel.
    • Assist in developing goals and procedures to ensure training, motivation and achievement of goals by field personnel.
    • Review project safety requirements and programs, mentor and assist Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents with proper implementation and documentation of safety practices and procedures.
    • Assist in the continual development of meaningful project safety agendas in coordination with Superintendents, Safety Director / Safety Consultant and General Superintendent.
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs and goals on assigned construction projects in conjunction with Field Coordinator, Project Manager and Superintendent.
    • Directs subordinates in the implementation of quality assurance activities for all aspects of construction (i.e. subsoil, foundation, concrete, steel, floors, pavement sections, roofing systems, HVAC, etc.).
    • Monitors quality assurance program throughout the course of the job.
    • Assists Superintendent(s) in defining punch list program and logistics.
    • Tours job before final punch list to review the quality of construction in place with the Superintendent(s).
    • Reviews punch list and monitors completion.

     

    Qualifications

    Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional construction related courses from a vocational or technical school preferred. 

     

    Experience:  This position requires ten or more years of experience in the construction field with a focus in large commercial and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated construction supervisory capabilities developed through quality performance as a foreman and Construction Superintendent, including experience with supervising projects with a team of multiple Superintendent staff members. Must be able to effectively supervise the activities of laborers and supervisors as well as handle interpersonal problems in an appropriate manner.

    Additional requirements:

    • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20lbs
    • Flexibility in days and hours worked
    • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
    • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally
    • Computer literacy
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Working conditions:

     

    This position is in the construction environment and involves hazardous work conditions requiring protective equipment and training that conforms to OSHA / WSHA regulations. Conditions my cause some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise.
