  • Overview

    The Utility Billing Analyst is responsible for managing the utility setup process and tenant utilization analysis of utilities to ensure consistent practices and energy savings in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the utility account setup, implementation process, and/or installation of site utilities in coordination with the utility management companies.
    • Work with utility companies and bill processing firms to research, analyze, and resolve utility account issues.
    • Analyze energy trends, calculate budgets, make recommendations for improved efficiency, and project cost savings of energy conservation measures.
    • Prepare site and portfolio reports using utility bills and operating data; present information in easy to understand summaries, charts and graphs.
    • Analyze specific usage, market data, and applicable laws to make recommendations on which billing method should be used for a given market and/or property.
    • Negotiate with utility companies and utility management companies to achieve the best possible rate.
    • Review usage data, compute end-use analysis and evaluate anomalies in consumption and drive issues to resolution.
    • Conduct ad-hoc reporting in response to specific requests (i.e. sustainability analysis, energy trends, etc.)
    • Interface with other business lines where applicable to ensure utilities are managed efficiently and effectively.
    • Ensure the satisfaction of all partners and property tenants by providing a superior level of service.
    • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
    • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
    • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

    Qualifications

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.

    Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience in a utility management, business analytics, or closely related experience involving billing procedures and/or account maintenance required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Knowledge of utility rate structures, billing methods, and usage patterns.
    • Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks in a complex and fast-paced operating environment.
    • Strong attention to detail with superior analytical skills.
    • Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
    • Must be proactive, flexible, responsible and resourceful.
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Ability to work independently, self-managed and motivated.
    • Knowledge of utility rebate and incentive programs/applications.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Competency in Microsoft Office 360. Yardi software preferred.
    • Skilled in the analysis and explanation of various data.

    Attendance: This full-time position is exempt and requires the ability to be present and available during business hours to meet company and department needs. Additional hours or flexible schedule may be required.

    This position also requires:

    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Travel and overnight stays.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
    • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
    • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
