    Holland Partner Group is seeking an experienced Regional General Superintendent to join our Construction Team.

     

     

    The Regional General Superintendent is responsible for the oversight of field construction activities in their assigned region to ensure the safe practice, successful planning, and completion of various construction projects in accordance with the contract documents, in a quality manner, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values. 


     The Holland Team consists of Associates that demonstrate strong leadership, communication, team-building, and decision-making skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide oversight to construction teams regarding scheduling, constructability, cost of construction, construction techniques, and material selections on construction projects.
    • Promote, review and mentor project planning, scheduling, and accuracy of schedule updates.
    • Participate in constructability review of design documents to drive design to best practice means and methods throughout all phases of the project.
    • Continually review construction techniques to drive improvement of existing methods.
    • Collaborate with the Project Manager in budget preparation and in the analysis of potential construction techniques through review of preliminary drawings for cost control.
    • Direct the project teams to ensure compliance with applicable municipal ordinances from permitting through construction.          
    • Collaborate with the Safety Director to perpetuate a culture of safety by mentoring and assisting field staff of all levels with proper implementation and documentation of safety policies and procedures, actively leading safety programs, and continually reviewing jobsites to ensure they meet company safety requirements.
    • Provide oversight and guidance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs and goals.
    • Tour jobs at appropriate intervals throughout the construction process and regularly review the quality of construction in place with the project team and ensure a consistent product.
    • Monitor construction progress on assigned projects to ensure periodic schedule review, milestone dates, mandatory reporting, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
    • Supervise and mentor Superintendent/field staff in the successful completion of their assigned duties.
    • Maintain good relationships with the community and neighbors of jobsite.
    • Prepare, review, and approve reports and documentation to comply with company procedures.
    • Maintain effective staffing plans/supervision and work to optimize team effectiveness on each project.
    • Provide leadership and guidance in all aspects of construction ensuring quality assurance, timely delivery, and cost-effective construction.
    • Develop and maintain communication and productive working relationships with team and company personnel.
    • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
    • Conform to company apparel standards and OSHA PP&E requirements to set a positive example for all Associates.
    • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

    Qualifications

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related area is preferred. Additional construction related courses from a vocational or technical nature are preferred.

    Experience: Minimum of fifteen years of supervisory experience in the construction field with a focus in large multifamily, commercial and industrial building projects is required.

    • Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction documents.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate to a wide variety of people.

    • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a complex operating environment.
    • Ability to solve problems and use available resources.
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.

    • Able to work independently; self-started and driven.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 360, with the ability to proficiently operate or learn Phoenix scheduling software.

     

    Attendance: This full-time position is exempt and requires the ability to be present and available during business hours to meet company and department needs. Additional hours or flexible schedule may be required.

    Working Environment: This position takes place in a construction environment that involves hazardous work conditions requiring protective equipment and training that conforms to OSHA and applicable State Agency regulations. Office and toilet conditions may be temporary in nature. Site offices may be subject to dust, noise, and temperature variations not typically encountered in a standard office environment.

    This position also requires:

    • Valid driver’s license.
    • May require individuals to furnish their own vehicle to transport customers, tools and/or supplies to and from the office and assigned project(s).
    • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20 pounds.
    • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
    • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
