Overview

Salary range: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour.

 

Holland is seeking a detail and team oriented individual with a can-do attitude to join our diverse and dedicated Accounts Payable team. The ideal person for this role is capable of working both independently and in a team setting, while being a strong multi-tasker and having a high attention to detail while auditing a high volume of entries. The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks and processing within the residential, construction, development, or corporate accounting team in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable, including subcontractor pay applications, and receivable entries into accounting software.
  • Audit expense and job costing codes against standard chart of accounts for accuracy.
  • Serve as report processor for expense management system for expense reports and corporate credit cards. Ensure accuracy of category codes/GL accounts and/or project/overhead/property allocations.
  • Verify approval on various invoices, check requests and expense reports.
  • Investigate and resolve issues associated with processing of invoices, purchase orders, accounts payable and receivable entries.
  • Prepare and track required lien waivers.
  • Ability to prepare and process checks for multiple companies.
  • Ability to process and follow up on rush items
  • Support weekly reporting, complete monthly stale dated items, and monthly closings.
  • Reconcile various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
  • Assist in annual 1099 preparation.
  • Review and process project/property related contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and other various agreements as required.
  • Receive, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons
  • Assist with distribution of internal and external department mail and packages when needed.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records and reports, including subcontractor preliminary notices.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times
  • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
  • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College courses in accounting preferred.

 

Experience: Two years’ minimum experience in accounts payable required. Previous experience in real estate development, Management and/or construction project accounting, experience preferred. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks in a complex and fast-paced operating environment.
  • Competency in Microsoft office. Yardi and/or Textura software preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure, reassess daily competing priorities and proactively meet cyclical deadlines.
  • Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative.
  • Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  • Strong customer service orientation. 

Attendance: This full-time position requires regular and punctual attendance compliant with the schedule set to meet company needs. Additional hours or overtime may be required. 

 

This position also requires:

  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
